So, I am graduating next week. This is something that I have been looking forward to since I graduated from high school. However, I am a little nervous about what comes next! I didn't really think about what happened AFTER college. I guess I just assumed that when I got there I would know what to do next, or that a job would just be lined up for me somehow. There are so many options as to what to do with my life. Since I am not married, not engaged, not even close to it, not even DATING anyone.....plus I want to continue my education ANYWAY, I figure, I may as well keep going! So, as of this point I have decided to start on prerequisite courses for a Dental Hygiene program that I will probably start next Fall if I get in!
Let's face it, Marriage, Family, and Human Development is a wonderful degree, but if I have to support myself or maybe even my future family if the need arises, what kind of money will I make? Not much. Did you know that Dental Hygienists make an average of 63,000 a year? I think that is pretty good. Plus I think I would enjoy it, which is definitely my number one priority. If I won't enjoy something, I won't do it.
Then, when my kids are raised and leaving home, I can go get my PhD! Hopefully by that time I will be able to afford it! heheeh
OH life is crazy.
