Meh.....

I like that word, "Meh"...its so good at describing things.  It can be used in so many ways...How are you feeling today? "Meh...."   "So how did you like that song?"  "Meh....."

And that is how I realized I feel about that boy I was talking about in my earlier post--you know, the perfect one. I noticed the other day he was doing nothing but complain.....which, I understand is totally cool at times, but when it ends up being about so many things, it gets real old real fast.  I like to be with people who know how to complain without getting a bad attitude, because I think I hold too much back sometimes so I appreciate honest people, but I mean, this was definitely getting old.

So, meh....that crush is over.

And that, my friends, is how I burn through so many men.  hahaha....oh dear.

Complimentary Colors

I've found myself in several dating situations within the last couple of years that have made me think. Dating is probably where I do my most poignant innermost probing.  But it was only until the last couple of months that I have realized the one situation that tends to resurface frequently--that one situation you try to put your finger on but can't understand why something about it makes you feel not quite right, and there really is no reason as to why you shouldn't be interested in this individual--after all, you have a lot in common, they have great values and will treat you well, and there is nothing especially wrong with their personality that would be a red flag.  And oftentimes the situation of dating this individual came about by some common friend setting us up or saying something--I probably never would have even thought of him otherwise.

 Many artists learn early on the principle of complementary colors.  Complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.  When put next to each other, these colors tend to make the other color appear brighter.

 I've realized, for myself and my particular situations. this feeling of blah, or something is missing and I can't quite put my finger on it,  resurfaces each time I am dating someone who is very much like myself.  And lately, I have understood the importance of the principle of finding someone who complements your personality--not someone who has the same personality as you.

In observing guys that I find myself interested in--my senses are peaked and my joy brightens around the boy who has the qualities that I always wanted to have in myself, but which qualities the Lord did not endow me with.  Or perhaps someone with qualities that I never would have thought that I would like.  This boy naturally exudes these things as if they were a part of him from the very beginning.  And on the flip side, I myself will have qualities that he is lacking--not because of any personality glitches or sense of disobedience or unworthiness and rebelliousness necessarily--just a natural flow of who he is.  As a result, we both find the other person interesting, fun, and a marvel to be around, because they are unpredictable to us.  It makes life so much lighter and more fun!  (Not just for me but for him, as well!)

All colors are beautiful.  But one with a trained artist's eye can see that certain colors work better together to brighten a picture and keep it more lively and moving, so to speak.  Each color has its own complement, and though two colors may seem to match well, there are tricks artists use to keep a painting visually intriguing, which allows their message to come through clearer because the observer is so very enthralled by the very essence of the colors.

So friends, thank you for your thoughtful ideas on setting me up, it is very kind of you to try to help me to find someone.  I've just realized however that maybe someone I ought to be set up with is someone no one would ever suspect :)

Old Pictures from my Phone....OOdles of memories!

I came across a few treasures today!  I can't figure out how to get the other pictures off my phone that were downloaded to the actual phone.....so if you know let me know!!!

4th of July at Will's apartment.....this was a few months after David and I broke up....and he came and it was good to see him, and his sister came too and it was good to see her. Oh good times. And there was lots of chicken and no utensils. Ha! 

                                                      

And this was another one of Kleresa's forgetting a carbonated beverage in our freezer again.....you would think she would learn. Haha!

This was a motorcycle I was in love with and wanted to buy but I didn't have any money. My dad was surprised cause it was a street bike...what can I say...I have a wild side. 

Ashley and Keith come out of the temple all sealed!! Yay!  And their photographer wasn't there....lame....so we were all taking pictures with whatever we had!!  :)  

This was the Provo temple in the Fall. Just goes to show, Provo does have seasons besides Winter!  It is so beautiful in the Fall, and I love love love the temple!

I always send her pictures to get her advice! It's great, I love photo messaging!  

And this, again, is the Provo temple! Love it.  

Massive Ward Twister

For FHE this week we had a massive--I mean massive--twister mat we rented from Outdoors Unlimited. (That place is amazing for ward activities.)  It was a blast watching everyone and how twisted they got!

We made them pair up with someone and they had to tie their hands to each other and their legs. Ha!

And the best part....... GREEN RICE KRISPIES TREATS!! Yeah, Kyle, we got it. Uhh! 

And despite spending all night getting ready for FHE and not starting on cleaning checks until about 11. (Ok, maybe The Bachelor had something to do with it, too)...and only working for about 2 1/2 hours on them......(instead of the usual 5-6 hours and then still failing...)
