Life is Funny

You know what, life is funny. Really, it is. I love life, I really do. Sometimes it feels like we are on top of the world, and then other days it feels like we are dangling from a thread and have no idea where to go from here or if we are going to crash and burn. Life is like a roller coaster--I love the fast corners and the tiny hills, but when we start chugging up that humungous gigantic terrifying drop.....I want to barf all over the place. Not to mention the drop itself! GET ME OFF THIS THING AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Let's take this to making big decisions. When it comes to what our idealized life looks like, we are immensely happy without any complications, and the grass is always green. However, when it comes to reality, and we are trying to make decisions to create that idealized life, sometimes things happen that act as roadblocks to our dreams. Say for example that other people's agency interfere, or our OWN agency because we are scared to go forward, and somehow things just don't quite click at the time you want them to. I guess these are processes that sanctify us and help us to open up our eyes so that instead of just a fake idealized life, we grow to achieve an inner understanding and our patience is tested and tried and molded into our potential. Then we one day wake up and realize that we weren't doing so badly after all, but that we have come a long way, and that sometimes what we thought was an idealized life was not in fact the best life that we could have had. Life is short, it really is, but when we are chugging up that roller coaster, it sure seems like it is in slow motion!
I do know that though sometimes it feels like we are not getting where we want and when we want it, that the Lord is there guiding us. As long as we are obedient, we can't go wrong. Yes, we may experience heartache, but this too will pass, and pretty soon we will be able to look backwards and say "yes, that was good for me, yes I learned something important." And for that, I am grateful.
