Catching Up

Well its been a couple of weeks or so...

So guess its time to catch up!

I just got finished with two weeks of EFY. Oh it was so amazing! My first week back was kind of rocky because I had all this stuff planned out--each lesson, etc. I was expecting them to be like my first week of kids, so I had all these ideas of what it was going to be like.

Well, they were younger--14/15 year olds. And they were crazy. Crazy as in, very energetic, very talkative, and very distracted during lessons. haha. Cute girls, but I found myself getting very frusterated because they wouldn't do anything I said, they would interrupt in the middle of lessons, etc. I realized where I went wrong was that I was trying to control everything, instead of being humble and listening to the Spirit and going with the flow.

The next week, I fasted and prayed to prepare myself to be ready for another round of girls. I didnt' think I'd be able to have another repeat of the previous week without going crazy! So I really needed all the help I could get. Oh man what a difference it made! I felt like I could go with the flow so much easier. My girls were so good, so obedient, so incredibly happy...I found myself feeling so much happier because of their joy and optimism. They kept me straight, and they were so ready to do anything I asked them to do. I loved it! Oh what a difference having a humble attitude (which I could have done better at I'm sure) and relying on the Lord and not on yourself can make! Maybe they were just different girls, but I found myself way more able to look at them differently and have more confidence that the Lord would guide me as I went forward.

NOt to mention I got to have two of the best co counselors ever! Katie Tenney was my co for my second week! What a blessing! Seriously, I almost cried when I found out we would be co's! She is so happy all the time, so much fun....we bonded a lot I think! Oh I love that girl!!!!
